DOWNPATRICK Neighbourhood Policing Team held a very successful public meeting recently involving Down Rural Redevelopment Project, local residents,xa0Councillors and youth and community workers.xa0
Special guests were members ofxa0East Belfastxa0Streetxa0by Street Community project.xa0xa0They discussed the successes of the scheme which sees members walking around the streets of their community engaging with local people.xa0xa0They liaise with local community policing and encourage young people to join youth groups in an effort to reduce Antisocial behaviour.xa0
The aim was to inspire a similar project in Downpatrick and the presentation was extremely well received with local residents making arrangements to attendxa0East Belfastxa0to see the project working first hand as the next step forward.xa0
