The GAA – Developing the Next Gaelic Football Generation

The Down GAA consultative process “DEVELOPING THE NEXT GENERATION- A VISION FOR GAELIC FOOTBALL” is underway.

Over the next month the Presentation will be making it’s way toxa0Venues throughout the County aimed at collating the views of as wide a section of the community in County Down. Last Sunday in Celtic Park showed that Gaelic Football is alive and well in Down and indeed you may ask why are we now engaging in a consultative process?

That is indeed a fair question and the answer is that we want to ensure into the future that days like Sunday last are common occurrences for the players and supporters of Down GAA, add to that the reality that it is 19 years since we lastxa0won an Ulster Senior Football Title and 14 years since we last won a Minor Title.xa0Our aim isxa0to ensure that Down are regulars at the Top Table of Gaelic Football at Schools Level, at Club Level and at County Level, we want to ensure that all of those playing Gaelic Games within the County are given the exposure to the best preparations possible.

None of this can happen without People and we need you to give up an hour of your time to attend one of the Consultation Meetingsxa0as set out below and make your contribution to the future of Gaelic Football within our County-Your Voicexa0is important- make the difference-play your part.

We ask that you circulate this e mail to as many of your members as possible and if possible by text also if you have such a facility for contacting your members– together we can make this work- Thank you for your help.
