NIIRTA Express Concern Over 18% Hike In Electricity Costs

dn_screen NIIRTA Chief Executive Glyn Roberts who met with Power NI yesterday said:xa0“This 18% hike will be very disappointing to our members who are still struggling in these tough economic times. Given that many of members have expensive refrigeration costs, they are going to be particularly hard hit by this increase. “We are also concerned that the similar increase on domestic customers will also result in less disposablexa0income and have a negative impact on spending in our local retail sector. “While I understand the international cost of Gas to a major factor, we do need to look at ways across the Electricity Supply Chain to get a degree of price stability for both domestic and business customer in the future,” added Mr Roberts.
