Thady Graham from Killykleagh came in a credible third place in the Mayor’s talent competition in Newtownabbey.[/caption] Thady took to the stage to battle it out alongside eleven other acts for the top prize of £1,000, picking up a thirdxa0prize of £250 sponsored by Glen Houston Entertainment. The charity event, compered by local TV presenter and broadcaster Claire McCollum, showcased amazing talent. The Mayor and his fellow judges David Meade, Michelle Baird and Melanie Humphrey had the unenviable task of deciding the winners of the three cash prizes. Thady wowed the judges with her innovative and original ‘Four Chords’ and impressed them with her audience engagement. In the end it was Glengormley girl Christina McCabe and her acoustic rendition of Katy Perry’s The One that Got Away got crowned the winner of the fantastic £1,000 cash prize sponsored by G Force Amusements and United Bus Company. Sophie Giraudeau from Upper Ballinderry came in second for the £500 sponsored by CW Events Management and Blu Zebra. The event raised in the region of £3,500 for the Mayor’s charities: Alzheimer’s Society, Epilepsy Action NI and Reach Charity. Thanks were given on the night to all those who kindly supported the event: Abbey Centre, Blu Zebra, CW Events Management, Dargan Press, Glen Houston Entertainment and United Bus Company.
