writes Linda Crangle The U-12’s opened their season with a home loss to Drumaness, in a game played in gale force conditions, however, the physically stronger blues ran out as winners.Best for the home side was Rory Deegan,Dylan Addis and James Crangle. Training continues on Thursday at 7pm, next match away to Kilclief on Sunday. The U-14s had a good start to the league with a strong display against neighbours Bright at Ardtole, winning 5-3 to 1-7 with good performances from Paidi Fitzsimons,Jamie Cusack and Joel Wills, Training continues Tuesdays at 6.30. The U-16’s had no games last week and are away to Ballymartin on Thursday. Keep an eye on Facebook for travel arrangements. Last Friday night a youthful Senior team hosted Drumaness in a closely contested game. John Polly, Johnny O Connor and David Armstrong were solid throughout. With 14 men on the pitch Ardglass dug in and held on to a xa0one point win. Next Saturday at Ardtole Down Senior player Kevin McKernan will be at the pitch as part of his penalty kick challenge. xa0Where he will be visiting all 44 clubs in Down and kicking a penalty to raise funds for the Keep Er Lit charity .
