Police Seek Information on Ballynahinch Burglary

Detectives in Downpatrick are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary in the Dunmore road area of Ballynahinch last night (Sunday 24 February).

Around 10pm a 52-year old homeowner was approaching his property when he found two unknown males coming out of one of his outhouses.xa0 He stopped his vehicle and grabbed one of them by the arm, however, the burglary pulled a knife and cut the homeowner’s hand.xa0 The thieves made off and it was discovered they had burgled the house and two out buildings.xa0 Two storage containers had also been ransacked.
The two men are believed to have been seen in the Spa Lake area during the afternoon.
Anyone who noticed any suspicious activity at the Lake or the Dunmore Road area is asked to contact detectives at Downpatrick on 0845 600 8000.xa0 Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
