St Patrick's GAC Notes

St Patrick’s GAC Notes.

Our coaching for children begins this Thursday evening in the Hall. P1 & P2 children are welcome from 6:30-7:10pm and P3 & P4 children from 7:15-8:00pm. All the boys and girls should have their own named water bottle and wear appropriate clothing. P5-P7 boys begins this Saturday (26th) from 10 – 11am in the Hall. Again the boys require their own water bottle writes Mark McGrath. Each session costs £2 per child (£4 max per family) and all monies go towards the purchase of equipment solely for use with these age groups. Anyone returning a club football from last year gets in for free! U6 – U12 presentations will take place on Saturday 26 January at 2pm in the Hall. All those who played or trained in 2012 are very welcome to come along. There will be a short presentation of medals and a treat for all of the boys and girls. Tea & Coffee will be served for those who are past the juice and crisps stage! U14-U16 presentation will take place from 3:30pm in the hall after the younger ones have finished. If anyone can help set up the hall, please be there at 11:30am – many hands make light work. Registration for this season is on Sunday 3 February from 12 noon until 3pm. All those seeking to play or renew their membership for the year ahead should be there. It is essential that we complete the registration process at this time to ensure we are ready for the new season. Managers for the incoming season were agreed upon last week and will be on display in the club from this weekend. Thanks to those who helped last season and for those who have stepped up for 2013 – Good Luck! While coaches and administrators are important in our association, games cannot go ahead without officials. If anyone is interested in learning more about being a referee, contact any member of the committee. Young or ‘old’ there is training available and this is provided free of charge. All players will be required under new GAA rules to wear mouth guards for the incoming season. At registration we will have further details on this and what it means for everyone who takes to the field in 2013. In the meantime further information can be found at http://www.gaa.ie/medical-and-player-welfare/news/1701131020-mouthguards/ After their disappointment in the Ulster Final last weekend, the Scór na nOg ballad group have an exciting couple of weeks ahead of them. TG4 auditioned all Scór na n’Óg County Champions throught Ireland in all aspects of Scór including dancing, music, story telling & recitation. The Saul Scór na n’Óg Ballad group have been selected to go on to the next stage.
