The Duchess ready to chop a head off or two… Christopher McDonnell.[/caption] The Patrician Youth Centre always enjoys superb support and audiences always pack the hall for each performance. The forty strong cast must be commended for making a great attempt at a relatively low budget production but they did not hold back on pace, timing, sheer good humour and the quality of their singing and dancing. This year the Centre members and staff are showcasing a new set of talents as songwriters. They performed their own very melodic song entitled “How do you get to Wonderland?” to the tumultuous applause of the audience. Senior Youth Leader Yvonne McKnight said: “This was the Centre’s 29th production. We have been producing pantomimes since the 1980’s and have a long history of entertaining the Downpatrick area with music, song, dance and comedy productions. The shows are a showcase of the great wealth of talent on offer in our centre and we are delighted to bring you the classic fairy tale on stage. “Pantomimes are always a team effort at the Patrician with adults and children working in partnership to produce our public performances. The cast on stage is the public face of many more, ranging from set design to stage management. The cast have worked so hard to bring you this show and there is one more performance on Sunday at 3pm in the Great Hall. Tickets can be bought at the door.” The Patrician Youth Centre would also like to thank all of the sponsors of the Alice in Wonderland pantomime.
