Newcastle Oaklee Social Housing Meeting Cancelled

NEWCASTLE Councillor Carmel O’Boyle has flagged up that the public meeting scheduled for Friday this week in Newcastle to further consider the redevelopment plans for the former Newcastle SERC College premises has been postponed.

The plan for social housing is being opposed by local residents, business people and local politicians.xa0

She said: “The Planning Service has suggested that the meeting for 12.30pm on Friday to discuss the controversial Oaklee Housing Association Donard Street application should be postponed as no-one from Roads Service will be available to attend. As their presence is vital, I have agreed to allow this meeting to be re-scheduled for later in the New Year.”
