The RGU held their AGM on Sunday night and the following officers were elected for 2013.

PRO (Oifigeach Caidreamh Poibli) – John Murphy
Cultural Officer (Oifigeach Cultúrtha) – Maria Collins
Brendan Smyth, Willie Walsh, Martin Brady, Nishy Wynn, Tom Trainor, Kevin Fitzsimons, Mal McGrady and Bro. Christopher were also elected onto the Executive Committee.
We wish them well in their endeavours for 2013 and we hope that they will have the support of all members of Aontas Ghaelach Ui Rúiséil.
Rúnaí, Colm McNeill, presented his report for the year highlighting the various activities in the club and the areas which need to be focussed in for 2013.
The provision of handball courts at the club and the continued development of the ground are issues which will hopefully be addressed in the coming year.
Although the Club holds the title of being the “second county ground” we are disappointed with the County Board’s interest in us when it comes to allocating the bigger club games. In 2011, we put a lot of work into the provision of Health and Safety requirements obligatory under legislation, and this also incurred considerable outlay financially from the Club’s funds. This issue will need to be addressed in the very near future one way or the other as the current situation is untenable.
Finance was also addressed and the sterling efforts of members fundraising were noted. It is in every ones’ interests to do all they can to help the club in the current trying economic times.
RGU Lotto: Numbers for this week were 9/1/14/21. No jackpot winners but 9 people share £100 for getting 3 numbers. Jackpot moving up nicely for Christmas and now at £2300.
U-21s finish up this week with a home tie against Newry Shamrocks. Throw in at 2.00pm
Congratulations to both Kilcoo and Warrenpoint on reaching their respective Ulster Finals. Kilcoo will take on Crossmaglen on Sunday 2nd December whilst Warrenpoint play Cookstown on the same day.
U-6s continue their sessions on Saturday mornings at 10.30am with U-8s at 1.30pm in Ballymote Centre.
