Sport for Change in Ballymote Sports and Wellbeing Centre

A new, innovative programme of activities has been planned for young people in Down district.

This 10-week programme will incorporate basketball, soccer and martial arts, giving young people the chance to try out a new sport.

The programme will run in the Ballymote Sports and Wellbeing Centre on Saturday evenings from 8pm – 10pm.xa0 Young people are invited to attend from across the district and otherxa0 activities on offer include stiltwalking workshops, a residential activity programme and mentoring/sports coaching experience.xa0 Members of the PSNI, Fire and Rescue Service and Ascert (drug and alcohol awareness organisation) will attend to give talks and facilitate workshops.

PCSP Chairperson, Councillor Carmel O’Boyle said: “It is a fantastic chance for young people in the district to engage in such a positive programme of social activities.”
