SOUTH Down Assembly Member Sean Rogers MLA has planned to hold two local information evenings in Newcastle and in Castlewellan.

Mr Rogers said he had set up the information evenings to give all of his constituents xa0and opportunity xa0to address a wide range of pressing issues as winter approaches. “The perceived problems with the onset of winter, increasing debt, access to rural areas, next month’s digital switchover and many others issues are amongst many of the common concerns brought to my attention and to the attention of the staff in my constituency office.

“Whilst all issues brought to my attention are dealt with in a strictly personal and confidential manner, I believe that a purposely arranged public meeting to deal in general with such issues may prove well worthwhile to the constituents in this part of South Down. With this in mind I have arranged an information evening at which representatives from the NI Housing Executive, the Citizens Advice Bureau, Representatives of Maximising Access to Rural Areas (MARA), Debt Action NI, Down District Council Community Safety, representatives from Digital Switchover NI and St Vincent De Paul will be in attendance to answer queries and concerns.

“The informal event is open for everyone to attend and to assure that everyone gets an opportunity to avail of the information on offer I have decided to hold the event at two separate venues. The first information night will be held on Wednesday 19 September xa0in the Newcastle Centre and the following evening Thursday 20 September. the meeting will move to Castlewellan GAA Clubrooms. The event is timed to run between 7.30 pm. and 9.30 pm. each evening.

“If you are unable to attend the event , further information can be obtained by contacting my constituency office at 60 Main Street , Castlewellan , Tel 028 41778833; email[email protected].gov.uk
