TO raise awareness of the need for Fostering in the South Eastern Trust area, Franz Kavanagh, Social Worker in the South Eastern Trust Intensive Support Fostering Team recently took part in a triathlon.
The triathlon entailed swimming a mile in a Belfast swimming pool, cycling from Belfast for 30 miles and then on to the foot of the Mournes where he hiked to the summit of Slieve Donard with a group of supporters.
There is a large need for more foster carers for all schemes in the South Eastern Trust area and the aim of this Triathlon was to help raise awareness by increasing the number of foster carers currently required.
You could help make a real difference to a young person’s life by becoming one of our valued foster carers.
You can apply to foster whether:
– You are married/cohabiting or single
– You work full time or are claiming benefits
– You own or rent your home
– You have children of your own
