McCarthy Calls For Better Health Prevention

ALLIANCE Health Spokesperson Kieran McCarthy MLA has says it is vital that we examine every possible opportunity for preventative measures and early intervention in health to help address health issues and deliver more value for money in health.

Kieran McCarthy MLA said, “We need to explore every possible opportunity for the use of preventative measures and early intervention as regards health.

“With a very strong emphasis on prevention we can work to deliver more value for money and help encourage people at the earliest possible opportunity to have a healthiest lifestyle. Our public finances are facing very significant pressures and it is absolutely vital that we look at innovative ways to enable our health system to deliver the best service possible while also operating as efficiently as possible.

“I would like to see more resources provided for preventative measures and awareness-raising measures which could help stop people experiencing health problems down the line. This could help reduce pressure on our health service and ensure more value for money in the longer-term.”
