Following a possible attempted abduction of a minor in Warrenpoint, parents and children in South Down need to be on an alert. Police in Warrenpoint are appealing for information following an incident in the Upper Dromore Road area on Friday 30th September. At approx 3.20pm as a schoolboy was walking along the road a small red car being driven by a man described as being in his fifties stopped beside him. The man offered the boy drink and drugs to get into the car. When the boy refused the man sped off. It was also reported that the man was wearing a cap and had a beard. Anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area at this time or who has any information about this incident is asked to contact police in Warrenpoint on 0845 600 8000.
