U-12 girls travelled to Dundrum on Saturday to take part in their invitational blitz. A squad of 13 girls played 4 matches, in which they beat Dundrum and Aughlisnafin, came up just short against Kilcoo in a tight match and struggled against a stronger and older Loughinisland team writes Michael Starkey. This was a great performance by the girls playing in their inaugural blitz in what is their first season. Team; Rianne Fitzpatrick, Colleen McNeilly 2-02, Elouise Crane, Emma Ross 0-01, Aoife Barnes 1-01, Allannah Crane, Zoe Hanna, Eilis Murphy 3-03, Keva Mathers 0-01, Rachael McKeown 1-01, Beth McDowell, Clodagh Bogues 0-03, Emma McDowell. Training continues on Wed 6-7pm, and Sat 10.30-11.30. Gaelic 4 Girls continues on Thur night 7-8pm. All welcome. The U-16’s will play their Championship semi-final against Cill Breachtain on Friday evening at 7.30 in Bryansford. Please keep this in mind as all your support counts, and the lads would really like to make it to the final.The senior men will not play their next fixture, which will be against Loughinisland, until Saturday 1st October- time to be arranged.
