Children Raise Funds For Charity In Summer Schemes

Down District Council’s Chairman, Dermot Curran presented a cheque from the Summer Scheme children to a representative from Shimna Valley. Speaking at the presentation, Councillor Curran said, “Shimna Valley is a superb facility that provides a wonderful place for children and young people who have been diagnosed with cancer to recuperate. I am delighted to meet some of the fantastic young people who have raised an outstanding figure for this truly exceptional cause.” Down District Council’s Summer Scheme is an annual event bursting with activities from cookery and crafts to swimming and soccer.
