“Crowds of people lined the race track to cheer the donkeys on. Commentator Raymond Hill did an excellent job of keeping the crowds entertained. The fourth race was the final and Danny the donkey owned and trained by Lee Simpson and sponsored by vet Surgeon Bruce Steele emerged the winner by a short head from the Ballyclare Donkey Duke owned by Michael Ferris and sponsored by Ivan McCabrey. Bruce won £1000 for his chosen charity.

“Saintfield’s Got Talent was hotly contested and the eventual winner was Andy McTaggart from Ballyclare who not only won £500 for his chosen charity but also got a spot to sing at the Saintfield Christmas Charity Ride on Saturday 3rd.December.”
Joan also said that the Race Horse to Riding Horse sponsored by Downpatrick Races and judged by Margie McCloone from the Irish Field and Vet. Surgeon Bruce Steele was won by Suzy Barclay on No Discount.
