There is no room in our society for such acts. The people who did this are probably the same ones who planted a device recently at Drumnaconagher Road and caused considerable disruption. “The people in the Ballynahinch area do not want this. Whoever is doing it should desist before someone is seriously injured or killed. The good people of the district have rejected all of these people who do this at the ballot box. “They have no mandate to do this. It is just a disgrace and is a threat to all people, elderly, children and anyone in the vicinity of a such a dangerous device.” A police spokesperson said that the PSNI was alerted this morning and the area in the car park just off High Street was sealed off as the ATO team arrived to evaluate the device. After checking it out, it was deemed safe and taken away by the ATO for forensic examination. The bomb disposal squad were stood down at 4.45pm.
