Seniors had a superb win over St Paul’s. An overwhelming display of finishing by Pearse McCarthy (1-08) and Darryl Kelly (4-00) gave St Pauls little chance in this game. Conor Doyle (0-03) and Aidy Sharvin, BJ McMenamin, Tommy Fitzsimons and Philip Gelston (all 0-01) chipped in with the rest. Kieran Fitzsimons, Shane McEvoy and Philly McGarry all starred in defence while Nicky O’Connor ran the midfield but it was Pearse McCarthy who stole the show with such an impressive display. Next match is on Friday at Dromara against Newry Mitchels in the Championship. Support your Bright team please! U-16’s were unfortunately beaten by St Joseph’s at home though the teams were equal in performance throughout the first half. John McLeigh is a very impressive young player with excellent skill and determination who stood out in this match. Ballykinlar came out in the second half the more determined to be victorious and were rewarded for this. The U-14’s gained a deserved win over St Joseph’s in Dundrum last week. The two teams were equally matched but Bright edged out to be eventual winners by a point. It was a thrilling match to watch with a solid team performance. The team was changed around with Jack McLaughlin holding the midfield position solidly and Conor Black having a great game in defence. Corey Ranaghan played up front for this match and was able to tally up a hugely impressive 7 goals and 4 points. Bright Under-12’s beat Aughlisnafin in their quest to win Division 4. Good performances from Kain Tierney, Sam Dinu, Marc Burke, John and Conor Burns ensured Bright edged this close game. Micheal McCusker, Liam Nixon, Curtis Breen, Chloe burke and Aoife Toner also played well in the challenge match before hand. Bright Under-8’s travelled to Ardglass for a blitz on Saturday where they played the hosts and Darragh Cross. There was a great turn out by players and also the parents which was pleasing to see. The team won both games with Lee Murphy having a staring role. He was well supported by Niall Taggart, Adam McCabe, Dylan Breen, Chris Cullen, Connaill Moore, Ross Torney, Aiden McEvoy, and Ryan & Cillian Burns. We would like to thank Ardglass for the invitation and their hospitality.
