Saintfield Horse Show Plans Shaping Up

The classes and events run like clockwork thanks to Joan and her busy team. There will be showjumping for Horses and Ponies with courses designed by Top International Course Designer Raymond Jess. Working Hunter classes with course designed by the well-known David McClurg. “The show will also feature ridden ponies, lead rein, family ponies, minature horses, shetlands and donkey classes. For the adults there will be ridden hunter classes, cob, small hunter happy hackers, race horse to riding horse and also axa0ladies side saddle championship. “If you don’t have a pony why not bring along your dog as there will be axa0variety of pet dog classes.xa0The highlight of the day will no doubt be the Celebrity Donkey Derbyxa0with £1000 going to the winners choice of charity. Full detail of Sponsorxa0and conditions for the Derby will be released soon. Meantime Joan isxa0appealing to anyone who would have a suitable donkey for the Derby and would be willing to bring it to the show to please contact her as it would be greatly appreciated. “Saintfield’s Got Talent is another highlight and will commence atxa0approximately 3pm in the Mivan Ardnavalley Marquee following lunch. Among other prizes the winner will receive £500 for their chosen Charity. “Please note you do not have to be a resident of Saintfield to enter this competition. The winner will also get the opportunity to perform at the Saintfield Christmas Charity Ride on Saturday 3rd December.” And there was more…for the children at the show there will be plenty of fun with quads, bouncy castles, slides etc. Admission is £2 for adults and children are free.
