MP Urges GP's To Visit Downe Midwifery Unit

“This facility, for low-risk mothers, is a great asset to our local health care provision and it is vital in this difficult time for health and the economy that we support this local health provision. “I was able to witness first hand the high professional standards employed by the mid-wiferyxa0 staff, and the very relaxing and friendly atmosphere provided for mothers at both the booking clinics pre –natal and in the delivery suites. “I would encourage GP ‘s from Down District and the Mourne area to visit this new facility and to witness first hand new birthing choice that is available for their patients, and Ixa0look forward to working with the staff and the unit in the future and to many more such visits.” [caption id="attachment_25261" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="South Down MP Margaret Ritchie with Eileen McEneaney, Trust Assistant Director, Seamus McGoran, Trust Director of Hospital Services, Helen Wallace, Ulster Hospital Home from Home Manager, Hugh McCaughey, Trust Chief Executive, Tracy Magowan, Downe Hospital midwife with Teresa McDowell, Midwifery Sister with mums Cheryl McNamara and Faye with Sarah Hodge and baby Aedan."][/caption] ]]>
