Loughinisland Report The investigation began in 2006 when the families of those massacred asked the Police Ombudsman Al Hutcheson to investigate the matter. A number of  issue ssuch as the getaway car which was recovered after the incident was subsequently destroyed after only 10 months. Evidence also went missing. The bottom line is that the Police Ombudsman does not indicate that the police were guilty of any collusion. Families of the massacred will be disturbed at this conclusion and already it is understood that the ombudsman has indicated that he will continue a dialogue with them to address their issues.]]>
