Beat The Lunchtime Blues In Newcastle

Liquid Lunch of the season at 12.30pm on Tuesday 21 June when local Blues musicians, The Green and Blue Band will perform blues and jazz favourites at the Percy French restaurant in Newcastle. Newcastle singer and guitarist Jim Uprichard has been playing the local pub and blues circuit for many years now and has combined with a number of other well-known local musicians to perform blues and jazz favourites by international artists such as BB King, Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, Howling Wolf, Robert Johnson and others. Various members of the band have been making waves at Irish Blues festivals and the band are currently the resident Blues band at O’Hare’s Bar in Newcastle. Jim released a charity CD, ‘Green and Blue’, some years ago to support the Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke Association, featuring the music of the great British blues guitarist, Peter Green.xa0 Jim and his four-piece band will perform a mixture of tracks from the CD and other jazz and blues classics from Peter Green to Rory Gallagher, taking in Eric Clapton on the way. This unique lunchtime concert in one of County Down’s best loved restaurants will be followed by a delicious bowl of soup.
