THERE was plenty of top class action again this week as young footballers enjoyed the Killyleagh Summer League.
Karl Martin made his mark as the Killyleagh Summer League entered its third week last week.xa0In the junior category, he bagged four goals in the junior section to finish as top scorer at the Bridge Centre playing fields on Wednesday night.
David Graham banged in three to push him all the way while Sam Kirk, Robert Dahraus, Sam Carson and Joshua Burgess were also on target.
The penalty kings were Jay Dickson and Robert Dahraus.
MINORS
For the first time in a long while, the minors found the goals hard to come by.
The first three games all ended scoreless. It was Scott Irwin who eventually broke the duck and he ended up top scorer with three. The other top performance of the night came from Aimee Dickson who scored two goals for her team.
Ethan Davidson (2), Scott Gribben (2), Ross Murrayxa0and Melissa Cherry were the others on target. Good performances too from Ben Rooney, Amelia Dunwoody, Jodie Lee Rice, Kailym Fitzpatrick and Darra Rice-Thompson.
The P1 penalty king was Codie Carson while the P2 penalty king was Ethan Davidson. The runners up were Ryley Mills, Timothy Wing, Codie Halliday, Scott Gribben, Scott Irwin and Kyle Sullivan. The penalty queen was Sophie Todd.
SENIORS
There were goals galore in the senior section with a total of 20 notched up on the night.
Carl Irwin was the top scorer with four goals with Dawson Morrow hot on his heels with three goals. Max Grieves, Conor Hamilton, Finn Quinnxa0and Jack Sharvin each scored two.
The other scorers were Daniel Noble, Lee Fitzsimons, Ben Grieves, Mark Murray and Nathan Hamilton.
The P5 and P6 penalty king was Elliot Hagan, with Luke Thompson the P7 penalty king. The penalty queen was Ciara Martin.
