In addition to releasing an album, and receiving rave reviews, the band brings together the true spirit of the Scottish session, offering audiences a chance to hear the vibrancy of talent inherent in some of the most famous Scottish artists. Caruso and the Quake tells a different story. Italian opera singer, Enrico Caruso, was at the height of his fame when he performed Carmen at the San Francisco Opera House in April 1906. He woke-up the next morning to find his hotel room collapsing on top of him. ‘Caruso and the Quake’ tells the story of his escape from the Great San Francisco Earthquake of 1906 from his hotel room, through the fires and army gunfire peppering the city. But can he shake off the ghosts from his past and the terrible choices he has to make to survive? Performed by Ignacio Jarquin, this unique and compelling one-man show combines beautiful storytelling and live professional opera singing to reveal the heart behind a legend. The show features live music from Puccini, Rossini, Leoncavallo, Tosti and the immortal song that Caruso introduced to the World, “O Sole Mio”.
