Reminder Of GP Surgery Arrangements Over Holidays

Reminder to get your prescription filled in advance of Easter Holiday and extended Bank Holiday. GP Practices will be closed for Easter on Monday 25^th April and Tuesday, 26^th April.  Practices will also be closed on Friday  29^th April for the Royal Wedding and Monday 2^nd May for the  Bank Holiday. A GP Out  Of Hours services will provide urgent medical care for problems that cannot wait until GP Practices re-open.  The telephone number for  the out-of-hours GP service in the Downpatrick / Lisburn  area, is 0289260 2204 The Health and Social Care Board together with local GP’s wish to remind the public to check their medicines and to ensure that they have sufficient supplies to cover the extended public holiday period.  There is still time to order repeat prescriptions from your doctor and to collect your medicine from your local pharmacy.  Local pharmacy out-of-hours arrangements will be operating over the Bank holidays. The GP Out of Hours Service anticipates a significant increase in attendances over the Easter period. Patients should phone first if they are attending hospital as they may be given telephone advice, and may not need to be seen at an Out Of  Hours centre.  If patients do attend without an appointment, they may have to wait as urgent or emergency calls will be prioritised first.]]>
