Lecale Gaelic Society To Celebrate Book Launch

th birthday.xa0And the recently published bilingual book on the history of the Cumann, titled Déanfaidh May an Tae, will be officially launched at the event. The dinner will be held in the Red Brick on Market Street in Downpatrick on 28th January, 2011. Since it was established in 1980, Cumann Gaelach Leath Chathail has been the pulse of the Irish speaking community in the Lecale district. Organising social events and Irish language classes, its members have also been key movers in establishing an Irish medium nursery school and a gaelscoil. It is expected that places will be in demand as many former members take the opportunity to meet old friends and recall memories. Tickets for the event are £30 each and available from the Cumann’s office. It is recommended that those wishing to attend contact the office in the St Michael Centre in Downpatrick as soon as possible as tickets are limited.]]>
