Ulster Unionist Party launches campaign setting out why the Union is better
The Ulster Unionist Party has launched a six-day campaign across its social media channels setting out its stall on why Northern Ireland is better off within the United Kingdom.
Running until Thursday 29th October, the campaign makes five arguments for the Union: our shared national security, a lower cost of living, protecting our peace, a health service free at the point of use, and greater economic security.
It closes by celebrating what Northern Ireland brings to the Union, from the food our farmers produce to our world-class cyber security and screen industries.

Ulster Unionist Party Leader Jon Burrows MLA said: โThe Ulster Unionist Party will not simply defend the Union. We will actively promote it. That means explaining with confidence why Northern Irelandโs place in the United Kingdom matters and how it benefits people in their everyday lives.
โOur campaign sets out that positive case: the security we share, the stability that protects our peace, the strength of belonging to one of the worldโs largest economies, a lower cost-of-living and an NHS free at the point of use. A typical household here pays over ยฃ550 a year less for gas and electricity than in the Republic.
โThis is also about what Northern Ireland brings to the Union. Our farmers and food producers contribute to the United Kingdomโs food security. Our skilled workforce, innovative businesses and manufacturing expertise strengthen our shared economy. We have much to offer and every reason to be ambitious.

โThe case for the Union must speak to peopleโs hopes for themselves, their families and their future. We will earn support by making that case clearly and showing how Northern Ireland can thrive within the United Kingdom.
“The Ulster Unionist Party is determined to lead that argument.โ
The campaign runs from Saturday 24 to Thursday 29 October on the Ulster Unionist Partyโs social media channels. Daily themes:
- Sat 24th: Safer in the Union
- Sun 25th: A lower cost of living
- Mon 26th: Protecting our peace
- Tue 27th : Free at the point of use
- Wed 28th: Greater economic security
- Thu 29th: Proud of Northern Ireland.
