Police Appeal After Weekend Assault In Kilkeel

Weekend Kilkeel Assault Sparks Police Appeal

Police are appealing for information and witnesses following an assault over the weekend in Kilkeel.

A police spokesperson said: “The victim, an 18-year-old man, required hospital treatment as a result of the altercation – after sustaining facial and head injuries, as well as cuts to his arms.

“His injuries are not believed to be serious at this time, however, his phone was also badly damaged as a result of the attack.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened and whether this assault was hate motivated.

“We would be particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in the Manse Road and Greencastle Street areas of the town during the early hours of Sunday morning who may have witnessed this altercation.”
