Experienced Manufacturing Professional Joins County Down Company Donite Plastics
Donite Plastics, an industry leader in plastics manufacturing and thermoforming, has appointed Des Hassett as General Manager, at their Saintfield base as the company continues to grow and invest in its manufacturing operations.
A graduate of Queen’s University Belfast, Des brings 23 years of experience across manufacturing, operations and business improvement, with a strong track record in senior management roles.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Chemical Engineering, and a Master’s in Polymer and Plastics Engineering.
Drawing on his knowledge of lean management, continuous improvement, root cause analysis, manufacturing engineering and ISO standards, Des will lead operations, staff development and process improvement ensuring enhancements in productivity, quality, safety, and cost performance.
He joins Donite Plastics following the completion of a five-year machinery modernisation programme which delivered a 100% increase in manufacturing capacity.
In this key role Des will build on increasing customer demand across aerospace, transport and wider manufacturing sectors while supporting Donite’s focus on efficiency, precision and product quality.
