Lady Mary Peters is to open the Saintfield Centre expansion as part of fun day on Saturday 13th September
Olympian and national treasure Lady Mary Peters will officially open an expansion of Saintfield Community Centre on Saturday 13th September 2025 as part of a very special Saintfield Village Fun Day.
The celebrations will begin on Main Street from 10.30am to 1.30pm, where families can enjoy a full programme of activities including a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, live music, games, sports, face painting, petting donkeys and crafts.
Visitors can also take part in a Wonderland Village Scavenger Hunt, with clues and characters inspired by Alice in Wonderland to be found in the shop windows across the village.
The afternoon events will move to Saintfield Community Centre from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, where Lady Mary Peters will cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the centre’s new additional 5,500sq ft activity and event facilities.
The Community Centre celebration will feature more family fun with bouncy castles, gymnastics, music, games and entertainment for all ages.

A spokesperson for Saintfield Community Association who are organising the event in conjunction with the Village’s traders said: “We are honoured that Lady Mary Peters will be joining us for this very special occasion. The expansion of the Community Centre is a major milestone for Saintfield.
“What better way to mark it than by inviting the whole community to come together for a day of fun, celebration, and connection.”
Visitors to the Centre will also be able to see progress with the Saintfield Community Association led Windmill Park project which is being funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
