The May Bank Holiday Arrangements for Urgent and Emergency Care Services
The arrangements for urgent and emergency care services over the May bank holiday period within the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust are as follows:
Ulster Hospital Emergency Department
The Ulster Hospital Emergency Department is open as normal over the May bank holiday period.xa0 The Department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.xa0
Ulster Hospital Minor Injuries Unit
The Minor Injuries Unit at the Ulster Hospital will be open as normal over the May bank holiday period from 8.00 am – 6.00 pm. Patients can walk-in as normal. There is no Phone First service available on the May bank holiday.
Lagan Valley Hospital Urgent Care Centre
The ‘Phone First’ Urgent Care Centre in Lagan Valley Hospital will be open as normal on May bank holiday from 8.00 am – 6.00 pm (Monday – Friday).xa0The Urgent Care Centre is closed at weekends.xa0
Patients should call (028) 9260 4643 before attending.xa0 Patients will be assessed over the phonexa0and offered an appointment at Lagan Valley Hospital Urgent Care Centre or referred to a local pharmacy, GP or directed to an appropriate Emergency Department. xa0
Downe Hospital Urgent Care Centre
The ‘Phone First’ Urgent Care Centre in the Downe Hospital will be open as normal on May bank holiday from 8.00 am – 6.00 pm. xa0Patients should callxa0(028) 4483 8091 beforexa0attending.xa0
Patients will be assessed over the phone and offered an appointment at the Downe Hospital Urgent Care Centre or referred to a local pharmacy, GP or directed to an appropriate xa0Emergency Department.
Downe Hospital Minor Injuries Unit
The ‘Phone First’ weekend Minor Injuries Unit in the Downe Hospital will be open as normal on Saturday 23 May 2025 and on Sunday 24 May 2025xa0from 9.00 am – 5.00 pm.xa0Patients should call (028) 4483 8091 before attending.xa0xa0
Patients will be assessed over the phone and offered an appointment at the Downe Hospital Minor Injuries Unitxa0or referred to a local pharmacy, GP or directed to an appropriate Emergency Department.
