Mason And Hanlon welcome Clanmil Housing commitment to re-start the housing project at the old Downe Hoispital in Downpatrick
Sinn Féin MLA Cathy Mason and Downpatrick Cllr Oonagh Hanlon have welcomed confirmation from Clanmil that building work for new homes will resume in Downpatrick.
The South Downxa0MLA said: “Work is set to commence at the Old Downe Hospital site after Easter, with the view to have the first phase completed by Christmas.xa0
“This work is long overdue, but it will be very welcome news for our community, as this allocation is set to focus on people and families with complex needs.
“Sinn Féin is committed to fighting for more safe, social and affordable housing for individuals and families in South Down and across the North.
“Everyone must have the right to a secure home, and we will continue to press for this.
“Together, let’s work to build more homes and a better future for all.”
