Masked Burglars Strike In Crossgar

A home in Killyleagh is burgled and cash stolen

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a report of a burglary at a house in the Killyleagh Street area of Crossgar yesterday evening, Friday 24th January.

This robbery follows on from a burglary in Downpatrick on Thursday. They may not be related but police are investigating.

A Police Service spokesperson said: “Shortly before 8pm, it was reported that four masked men dressed in dark coloured clothing entered the property.

“They forced the four occupants of the house to remain seated on the living room floor, whilst three of the intruders searched the property.

“It was also reported that when one of the occupants tried to get up, one of the men hit him on the face and made him sit down again.

“After approximately 15 minutes the men left the house, and it was discovered that a sum of cash had been taken from a wallet.

“Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed any suspicious activity, or anyone who may have any dash cam or mobile phone footage, to get in touch via 101, and quote reference number 2536 of 24/01/25.”
