Saintfield Wins Best Kept Housing Estate In NI Award

Saintfield estate scoops Best Kept Awards NI for Best Kept Housing Estate

It’s celebration time in Saintfield as local residents has scooped a prestigious prize for their estate.

Proud residents of the Queens Park/New Line area of Saintfield, County Down, are celebrating after scooping the award for Best Kept Medium Housing Estate at this year’s Best Kept Awards NI.

The Housing Executive estate was applauded for its appearance and strong sense of community spirit.

NI Amenity Council praised the area and said: “The estate presented a hospitable welcoming environment.

“It was pleasing to see that residents had attractive front gardens and many properties were fronted by mature neatly tended hedges.

Down.

“At the entrance of the estate there is also a large area planted out in small shrubs which were very well maintained”.

In July, that green space in the Newline area was transformed by the Saintfield Community Association, who installed new plants and shrubs at the site, after Housing Executive staff cleared the area for development.

Vivien Lovell, from Saintfield Community Association, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this award, which is a testament to the pride our local residents’ take in their area.”

Claire Crainey, the Housing Executive’s Area Manager for South Down, added: “Winning this award is the result of the hard work of residents, volunteers and our staff.

“It highlights the efforts of all involved in maintaining a clean, beautiful and welcoming environment for all. We look forward to continuing our work with residents in making this area a great place to live”
