56 doctors have been recruited from Mumbai to the Southern HSC Trust
New international medical colleagues are settling into life and work in the Southern Trust area following a recruitment drive in Mumbai.
Following a recruitment trip to Mumbai last September, 56 new doctors have arrived to work in Daisy Hill and Craigavon Area hospitals.
A spokesperson for the Southern Trust said: “Our new recruits have been completing corporate familiarisation and training with their specialty areas over the past number of months and getting acquainted with their new community.
“A huge thanks must go to Dr Charles O’Brien, retired Trust Consultant and Clinical Director, who gave up his time to guide them on a hike up the Mourne Mountains to explore our beautiful local scenery.
“We look forward to welcoming more new international colleagues in the coming weeks!”
