Two Arrested After Comber Burglaries

Police have arrested two people following burglaries in Comber

Detectives investigating two burglaries and a robbery in Comber have made two arrests.

Detective Sergeant McCartan said: “With assistance from the public, we have arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of robbery, two counts of burglary, and possession of a suspected Class A drug.

“A 40-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of burglary.

“Both remain in police custody this morning, assisting with enquiries.”

DS McCartan added: “Our enquiries to establish the circumstances of these reports, which took place in the Killinchy Street area of the town on Sunday November 12, and in the Square area on Monday November 13th, are continuing.

“I would appeal to anyone with any information to get in touch on 101, quoting reference number 1944 of 13/11/23.

Detectives investigating two burglaries and a robbery in Killinchy Street and The Square in Comber on Sunday November 12 and Monday November 13th have charged two people.

A 33-year-old man has been charged on a number of offences including burglary, robbery and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

He is expected to appear before Newtownards Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 16th November.

A 40-year-old woman has also been charged with burglary and is expected to appear before Newtownards Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 12th December.

As is usual procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).
