£187,000 Road Improvement Scheme To Begin In Saintfield

REGIONAL Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced that a £187,000 improvement scheme on the Green’s Road (U373) Saintfield will start onxa0Monday 18 November.

The improvements will see resurfacing of a 1.9kilometres stretch of the road from its junction with the Carsonstown Road to its junction with the B6 Killyleagh Road.dn_screen Work is expected to be completed by mid-December 2013. Minister Kennedy said:xa0“This £187,000 scheme represents a significant investment in the roads infrastructure in the Saintfield area.xa0 “Once work is complete, road users will quickly realise the long term benefits from the new road surface.” Temporary road closure will be necessary with through-traffic being diverted fromxa08.00am to 6.00pmxa0daily fromxa0Monday 18 Novemberxa0to mid December excluding Sundays. Diversions will be via the B6 Killyleagh Road, B6 Station Road and the U372 Carsonstown Road. Roads Service aims to keep disruptions to a minimum, however, delays should be expected and drivers are asked to be patient and allow additional time when planning journeys in the area. With all work of this nature extreme weather can impact on the scheduled date. Roads Service will advise the public of any unexpected change to the schedule.]]>
