AUGHLISNAFIN GAC  NOTES For 1 April 2013. The Down U-14 Féile did not take place on Easter Monday and has been postponed to Saturday 13 April due to the adverse weather conditions writes Geároid Ó Lionnacháin. Training / matches for the coming week : Senior training this Wednesday at 7 pm. Senior match away against Ardglass on Easter Monday followed by a game at home to Aghaderg this Friday at 6.45 pm. Training for Ladies, seniors, minors, u16’s and u14’s on Easter Monday at 5 pm in Annsborough and also this Thursday at 7 pm. A final challenge game has been arranged for this Saturday and the first league match will be on Saturday 13 April. Training for U-14’s and U-16’s at 4 pm on Easter Monday. Training for U-8’s, U-10’s and those U-12’s that are not on the U-14 panel this Thursday at 6 pm in Annsborough. All juveniles are reminded that mouthguards MUST be worn at all training sessions and matches. Naomh Seosamh (Aughlisnafin/Ballykinlar/Dundrum) have their first league game of the season this Thursday at 6.45pm in Dundrum with Tullylish the visitors. All players to be at the pitch for 6 pm sharp. Naomh Seosamh are in Down ACFL Division 3B along with Loughinisland, Newry Mitchels, Newry Shamrocks, St John’s and Tullylish and will play a total of ten games with the league winners playing the runners up of Division 3A. The winners of this game will then meet the Division 3A Winners for the Division 3 title. The U14’s are away to Drumaness next Monday evening at 6.45 pm in their opening game of the East Down Division 2 league. This is followed by a home game against Ardglass on Monday 15 April. The U12’s are away to Bright this Sunday at 12 noon. Go Games for the U-10’s (Year 6) will be held on the second and fourth Saturday of every month commencing Saturday 13th April. Go Games for the U-8’s (Year 4) will be held on the fourth Saturday of every month commencing Saturday 27th April. The Active Start Nursery session for ages 3 – 5 resumes again this Saturday at 10.30am in the Fin Hall. We would ask that all parents/guardians make a conscious effort to let the Youth Officer know if any juvenile player is unable to attend training or matches so that the managers of the various teams can plan accordingly. A programme of all matches/training for the juveniles is being prepared and will be distributed next week. The draw for the Kit Bag sponsors will be held this Sunday in Mulhollands Bar at 9 pm. The deadline for returns has been extended to allow all outstanding sponsor sheets/monies to be returned. Results from the Poker Night. First place was Kieran Kelly (St John’s), second was Ned Morgan (Bryansford). Thanks to everyone who helped out and supported this club fundraiser. The rehearsals for the club’s riotously funny play are going well. The play will run over the bank holiday weekend of the 3rd, 4th and 5thMay and we will have more details in the coming weeks. Please keep one of these dates free to come along and help support this club fundraiser. After the club’s three page spread in last weeks edition of the Gaelic Life, which was very well received, plans are afoot to prepare a more comprehensive review of the history of the club.
